Rabbi Eliot Malomet is a native of Ottawa, Canada. He received his BA in Jewish Studies from the University of Toronto and studied in the Graduate Program in Jewish Studies at McGill University. He was ordained through the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York in 1990 and has served as the spiritual leader of our synagogue since 1994.

Originally from Chicago, Hazzan Weis graduated from Stanford University in 1986 with a BA in Economics and was a professional actor and business owner in Los Angeles before moving to the East Coast and attending the HL Miller Cantorial School at Jewish Theological Seminary. He is a 2-time member of our clergy staff. having originally come to Highland Park both as a student cantor and a bachelor. Before returning to HPCT-CAE in 2017, he served for five years at the Brotherhood Synagogue in Manhattan. Hazzan Weis lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Lisa, and their three children, Shai (9), Jayna (13) and Michelle (17).
