Chesed Outreach

Our chessed outreach committee extends a helping hand to Temple members during times of stress or transition, both happy and sad. We can provide short-term help with grocery shopping and meals, transportation to medical/dental offices or to visit a spouse in a nursing home, and even minor home repairs or a simple phone call or “thinking of you” note.

We are constantly working to create an environment of caring, compassion, and connection for all our members and their families. This is what our Temple community is about.

We make it our business to reach out to Temple members and their families who might need our support, and you can help us do that. If you or someone you know is experiencing an illness, hospitalization, or the death of a family member, or celebrating the arrival of a new child, please let us know. Contact Marlene Tarshish (732-572-1814) or Ina Nelson.

How You Can Help

We are always looking for people to join our committee so we can continue to offer acts of loving kindness to our community. If you can drive people to medical/dental appointments, pick up and deliver groceries or prepared meals, make phone calls, or write short notes or cards, we welcome your participation. Even if you can help just a few times a year, you will make a real difference. Please call or email Nanette Cohen or Marlene Tarshish at the contacts listed above to offer your help. Our entire community thanks you!
