We have purchased a copy of the book Hostage, by Eli Sharabi. In order to accommodate the number of members that would like to read the book, we ask that you fill out the form below to be added to the Reserve List.
Marsha Goldwasser will contact members in the order in which we receive your request. If you cannot pick up the book from her house, 222 Donaldson St, Highland Park, within two days, Marsha will call the next person on the list and then come back to you. We ask that you return the book to Marsha within one week’s time. Please do not share it with anyone else when you have the book. We want to be sure that as many members as possible have the opportunity to read the book in a timely manner.
Once we make our way through the list, the book will be available in the Temple library for circulation through our regular circulation system. While waiting for your turn, please take a look at our other October 7th related titles on display in the library. You can check out our full collection here.
The Arline and Henry Schwartzman Library offers resources in various formats that promote Jewish literacy and a full Jewish life. It is a place where anyone can sit and read, research, and cultivate and strengthen their Jewish identity.
Our collection includes more than 1,300 books in adult and juvenile fiction, non-fiction, and biography, plus DVDs and periodicals. It is arranged according to the Weine Classification System for Small Jewish Libraries, and you can find the Weine number in the online catalog in the “Other call number system” column”. Adult fiction is shelved in alphabetical order by author’s last name; biographies are shelved in alphabetical order by the subject’s last name.
Juvenile books are shelved according to topic and are color-coded.
You can search the collection here.
Temple members may check out all books, except those marked Reference, for up to one month. We ask that you borrow no more than two books at any one time.
Instructions on how to use our Shabbat-friendly circulation system are located on the Circulation table.
The Library is open whenever the building is open except when a class is meeting in the room.
