Leon Goodman Religious School
Our Religious school offers a strong educational program for its students and their families. We offer a holiday oriented Kindergarten program once every 4-6 weeks, followed by weekly and then bi-weekly sessions as our students grow up. For post Bar/Bat Mitzvah students, we offer our unique Teen Social Action Program, which helps teens learn how they can make a difference in their communities, synagogues, and the wider world, based on Jewish teachings. This is an active, project oriented program open to all teens, not just those of HPCTC.
Along with teaching our students, we also work hard to offer learning opportunities to their parents. Our Topics in Parenting program meets every 4-6 weeks, usually linked with our Kindergarten program meeting dates. Topics vary, but the talks are informal and discussion is always central. The Religious School Association for Parents (RAP) also gives parents the opportunity to be involved in the school.
All parents get a Home-School Tefilah CD and Kit, to help bring the learning of the school into the home, regardless of level of prior Jewish background or training. And we are planning another, similar kit, focused on Jewish songs and zemirot, of the kind sung on holidays, Shabbat, and other festive occasions.
The school is under the direction of HPCTC Rabbi Eliot Malomet and School Principal Sharon Raven. Please check with the Temple Office for information and updates (732-545-6482).
