We're coming into the home stretch before Rosh Hashana, and we're starting to see some finishing touches in the sanctuary. Check out these great shots!
Starting to see some finishing touches! This week's pictures show the dance floor in the social hall, carpet installations in the basement, completed skylights, and the beginning of the construction of the Bima.
This week's shots are mostly of some additional demolition work performed upstairs (in the area where the old Rabbi's office was). We also have a shot of new window installation, and the preparation of our long-awaited parking lot!
This week we have some great shots, both interior and exterior. Check out the fantastic shots of the skylight in the sanctuary!
A variety of different pictures this week, as we see things continue to take shape.
A little inside/outside activity this week.
On the inside, we have pictures of the demolition of the chapel and Rabbi's office - the area that will be the new Above and Beyond Child Care Center.
On the outside, shots of the stucco being applied, the addition of the shul's name over the main entrance, and the frame for the stained glass windows.
Enjoy!
After last week's round of exterior shots, this week we show you what the interior of the building looks like. We have some shots of the sanctuary under construction, the lobby, and the prefunction area (between the sanctuary and social hall).
Enjoy!
This week's pictures are of cement being poured for the outline of the parking lot, and the next steps in the preparation of the exterior walls.
The outer yellow wall sheeting was coated with a sealant, followed by a layer of cement and a& layer of Styrofoam. When the Styrofoam was being smoothed, it looked like it was snowing in July!
This week's pictures are all of the progress of the new sanctuary.
The large windows at the rear of the building will hold the stained glass windows from the old sanctuary, once the restoration is complete.
Our pictures this week include photos of the new tile in the front lobby, the coat room, the ladies room, the ladies lounge, and continued work outside that includes outer walls going up.
The crane got fixed, and we finally got a little bit of nice weather early in the week, so our contractor was able to put up much of the steel. You can also see the new fence at the back of the parking lot in these shots.
As you may know, the shul is participating in the Middlesex County Adopt-a-Road program. We have chosen a 1 mile stretch of River Road.
The program includes two clean-up days for our adopted section. The first was on June 14, and here are some pictures.
If you would like to participate in this or other future social action programs at the Temple, please contact Joe Novick.
The steel is here! Erection of the steel started this week, in spite of the crummy weather.
Unfortunately, the crummy weather seems to have disagreed with the crane, which broke on Wednesday. Our builder had a replacement part overnighted to us from Germany, with hopes of resuming construction today. If that doesn't work, we'll have a new, even bigger crane, on Monday to continue the building.
Update!! The steel has arrived! See the new pictures here!
A bunch of different things happened this week:
- The glass in the wall where the stained glass windows used to be was removed, so the wall can be further demolished.
- More work was done on the trellis that is part of the front entranceway.
- We have some views of the interior of the building with the walls out, and
- Some work on tile and cabinets downstairs.
The steel is expected early next week, and we hope to be able to share some great new pictures then!
This week's pictures show the demolition of the rear storage area and the outside wall in preparation for the delivery of the structural steel and the start of framing the building next week. We also show the construction of pillars in the front of the building as part of the front entrance.
Next week's pictures should be very exciting!
