Get Tested, Save a Life!
You can help MARC WEINSTEIN, a 4th grader at the Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Monmouth County, and many others, with the GIFT OF LIFE by logging on to the website listed below to order a home swab kit, or by joining us at Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Monmouth County, on Sunday, February 10, 2008,
from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, or from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., or on Tuesday, February 12, from
7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., for a bone marrow registration drive.
Marc has a rare genetic blood disease known as HLH (Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis). His only cure is a bone marrow or stem cell transplant. Since tissue type is inherited, the best chance of finding a genetically matched donor for Marc, as well as hundreds of other patients with a variety of diseases, lies with those of similar
ethnicity. Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation, North America’s Jewish donor registry, has been facilitating drives and providing donor and patient support for patients like Marc since 1991. For more information call 1-800-9-MARROW or visit www.giftoflife.org.
